West Kelowna RCMP surround drug house after alleged assault

Police say about eight people were lured out of the home as officers searched for a possible additional suspect.

  • On Wednesday, multiple RCMP officers surrounded a home at 1520 Ponderosa Road in West Kelowna following reports of an aggravated assault. Police arrived after receiving a call about a man suffering severe facial injuries.
  • Known as a problem property, the home at 1520 Ponderosa Road has faced multiple police raids in recent years. In October 2025, officers seized weapons and controlled substances during a search warrant execution.
  • Greg Woodcox said they received a call at 11:50 a.m. regarding a man hiding behind a vehicle. "That's what led us to this particular residence," Woodcox said, noting the home has been a constant neighborhood problem for years.
  • Throughout the afternoon, officers lured eight people out of the home, taking two into custody without incident. Authorities are currently negotiating with one male remaining inside, believing the crime scene is located within the house.
  • Police remained on the scene as of 3:20 p.m. to conduct a property search. While the Emergency Response Team was mentioned during negotiations, officers stated there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.
