TROPICS: NHC Continues to Track 2 Systems in Atlantic
Forecasters said one system has a 20% chance of forming while another still carries a 50% chance of development.
The National Hurricane Center is tracking two tropical waves in the Atlantic, with AL92 showing decreased organization while AL94 maintains development potential as both systems move westward.
AL92, located about 400 miles east of the Windward Islands, is encountering strong upper-level winds and dry air, conditions that lowered its development chance to 30% over the next seven days.
Gusty winds and heavy rain are possible across parts of the Lesser Antilles Friday night into Saturday, potentially providing relief to ongoing drought conditions in the Windward Island region.
With a 50% chance of formation over the next seven days, AL94 is located over 1,000 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands and shows more promise than its counterpart.
Strong wind shear may inhibit strengthening when AL94 reaches the Caribbean Sea by Sunday, while Saharan dust remains a key factor steering both storm clusters across the Atlantic.
