Police seek 41-year-old suspect in teen's death in Shawinigan, Que.
Quebec provincial police say the victim in Sunday’s homicide in Shawinigan, Que., was a 16-year-old boy. Police are now asking for the public’s help in locating 41-year-old Philippe Benoit, who is considered a suspect in the teen's death.
Philippe Benoit, a suspect wanted for the murder of his son, suffers from schizophrenia, a disease for which he allegedly stopped taking his medication, confirms a family member. He was already charged after making death threats to his son in 2014.
The man wanted for killing his 16-year-old son in Shawinigan on Sunday morning had already threatened his former spouse and son with death.
