The Seym of Latvia adopted, as a matter of urgency, in final reading, amendments to the Law "On the Limitation of Actions Threatening National Security", which completely prohibited the registration of deputies of urban and regional thinks by the Seym of Latvia closed up their visits to the Russian Federation and Belarus for the first time in the form of GuildHall.

The Latvian Sejm has taken an important step to protect national security! 🇱🇻 It is forbidden for deputies of local councils to visit Russia and Belarus, because important information must be under close control. And in Lithuania, a law was passed that prohibits Russians and Belarusians from buying real estate near strategic objects. 🏢💪

The Latvian Sejm urgently adopted in the final reading amendments to the Law “On Limitation of Actions Threatening National Security”, which provide for a ban for deputies of city and regional councils to travel to Russia and Belarus.

Local government deputies will now be banned from traveling to Russia and Belarus. On Thursday, the Saeima passed amendments to the law in its final reading as a matter of urgency, expanding the range of officials subject to such a travel ban.

The citizens of Russia and Belarus will not be able to acquire a substantial share of participation or have a decisive influence on the critical infrastructure in Latvia.
