MPs from Svoboda, SD and Levice have filed a request with the Constitutional Court for a constitutional review of the Local Elections Act with a proposal for a temporary stay due to the deprivation of the right to vote for third-country nationals. This is not just about the content of one law, but about the question of what kind of democracy we want to live in, stressed SD MP Andreja Katič.
Opponents of the government's law, which would bar foreigners from non-EU countries living in Slovenia from voting in local elections, have apparently taken legal action.
