The European Parliament has approved the reform of the Customs Code, scrapping the exemption for goods worth less than 150 euros. Rapporteur Gotink (EPP): “We will stop the tsunami of parcels coming from China that violate EU rules, do not pay taxes and overwhelm our customs authorities”
Small packages of online shops will soon cost extra when imported. European Parliament agrees to the handling fee. The EU Commission still has to set the amount of the fee.
Starting from November 1, a handling fee will be applied to packages imported from non-EU countries, in addition to the 3 euro duty.
