Meta Ran and Profited From Hundreds of AI Child Abuse Ads for Nine Months
A Tech Transparency Project investigation, confirmed by Wired's reporting, found Meta approved and monetized more than 300 ads containing AI-generated child sexual abuse material between November 2025 and August 2026, reaching over 29,000 accounts. Many promoted deepfake 'nudify' apps tied to a Chinese ad partner, and one used a real photo of a European royal family member's child.
