- The Joint Awami Action Committee has held protests since last month over 12 contentious seats in the so-called PoK Legislative Assembly, alleging the establishment manipulates these seats to install a preferred prime minister.
- During Monday's first phase of elections for the PoK Legislative Assembly, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz secured nine of 13 contested seats, while the Pakistan Peoples Party alleged the results involved massive rigging.
- Adviser Rana Sanaullah alleged that protesters are engaging in an "India-like attack" to seize Muzaffarabad and Mirpur by force; authorities disputed the death toll, though the JAAC denied carrying weapons.
- External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated on Tuesday that ongoing protests are the "direct consequences" of Pakistan's administrative oppression, reiterating that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir are integral parts of India.
