Heinz Unveils French Fry Box with Built-in Ketchup Compartment - Where You Can Find Dipping on the Go
Heinz designed the Dipper to prevent spills and soggy fries, addressing a problem affecting over 70% of ketchup-and-fry fans, with trials ongoing in select U.S. venues.
- On January 13, Heinz launched the Heinz Dipper, a first-of-its-kind fry box with a built-in ketchup compartment, available at more than 20 restaurants and sports stadiums.
- Facing a common problem, Heinz says 70 percent of ketchup and fry lovers have spilled ketchup when dipping on the go, while roughly three out of every four restaurant orders are taken to-go, per the National Restaurant Association's 2025 report.
- Shaped like the brand's Heinz keystone, the Dipper includes an attached side compartment that lets diners dip fries directly into the built-in cup, preserving crispness.
- This coming week, Heinz will test the Dipper during men's basketball games on Jan. 17 at Texas Tech's United Supermarkets Arena and USC's Galen Center, with Fat Sal's Deli, Devil Dawgs, Pat's King of Steaks, and Lucky's Hot Chicken selling it.
- After this month's soft launch, Heinz hopes the Dipper will help customers avoid mess while reaching more sporting arenas, amusement parks, concert venues and restaurants, continuing its 150-year packaging legacy.
