Global solar additions hit 690 GW in 2025
Latest report from IEA-PVPS says the world's cumulative solar capacity reached 2.96 TWh by the end of last year, a total theoretically capable of generating around 12% of global electricity consumption.
According to the report of the IEA-PVPS, the global expansion has slightly lost momentum last year. China accounted for around 60 percent of the newly installed capacity, followed by India and the USA. The EU is recording below-average growth.
