Under pressure from insufficient supply of batteries, the car manufacturer is forced to temporarily reduce its activities.
The car manufacturer announced that it would shut down three of its factories in France in October because of the "inadequate industrial availability of certain batteries" for electric vehicles, but also because some models produced in Mulhouse come to the end of their lives.
There is a strong demand for batteries allowing for a high range of electric vehicles, and this weighs heavily in Rennes, where Stellantis encounters difficulties in obtaining supplies.
