Family of GP found dead at home pay tribute to 'kind and loving' mother
Police say the GP was found dead at home and post-mortem findings indicated head and neck injuries, while her husband was charged in court.
On Wednesday, Mark Cain, 45, appeared before Norwich Magistrates Court charged with the murder of his wife, Dr. Hannah Cain, after police discovered her body in Dersingham, Norfolk, on Sunday, October 4.
Known professionally as Dr. Hannah Terry, Dr. Cain served as a GP to the royal family near Sandringham Estate and ran a cosmetics business, Norfolk Sky Aesthetics, while maintaining more than 15 years of medical practice.
Prosecutor Jacqui Hanlon told the court Dr. Cain was "found in an upstairs bedroom not breathing, not conscious." A post-mortem examination noted a "blunt force injury to the right side of her head" and possible compression of the neck.
District Judge Matthew Bone remanded Cain in custody on Wednesday, ordering his case to proceed to King's Lynn Crown Court for further hearing, with the defendant scheduled to appear the following morning.
In a tribute issued by Norfolk Police, the family of Dr. Cain described her as "kind, generous and loving," stating they were "devastated" by the loss of the mother and GP who took "great care" of her patients.
