Man pleads guilty after wife's body found in freezer at West Yorkshire home
Barraclough changed his plea on the day of trial after police found Carolann Barraclough’s body in a freezer following welfare concerns.
On Tuesday, David Barraclough pleaded guilty to murdering his wife, Carolann Barraclough, at Leeds Crown Court after initially denying the charge.
West Yorkshire Police discovered Carolann Barraclough's body in a freezer at the couple's Ken Churchill Drive home in Horbury on March 5 following a concern for safety report.
The court heard Carolann Barraclough was killed between February 19 and 21, up to 14 days before her body was found at the property.
Following his plea change, Barraclough was remanded back into custody pending sentencing, removing him from the community immediately after the court proceeding.
Judge Andrew Stubbs scheduled a court hearing for Wednesday to set a formal sentencing date, determining the defendant's punishment for the murder conviction.
