Thitikul Takes 3-Stroke Lead in Hawaii in Bid for Her 4th LPGA Tour Victory of the Season

Second-Ranked Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand took a 3-stroke lead on Saturday at the LOTTE Championship in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, reaching 17 under 199 after a strong back-nine finish.
Thitikul separated from the field after entering the round tied for the lead, while Germany's Polly Mack shot a 70 to join South Korea's Ina Yoon in second place at 14 under.
"It's not a course that you just sit down and hope for everyone not catching you," Thitikul said, reflecting her strategic mindset after carding a 5 under 67.
Maja Stark and Carolina Melgrati sit 13 under, while Australia's Grace Kim occupies joint ninth place at 11 under after a 5 under 67 third round.
Players enter the final round seeking momentum, as this LOTTE Championship precedes a month of LPGA Tour events in Asia, starting with the Buick LPGA Shanghai from Oct. 15-18.
