- On Friday, the Indian Army neutralized Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Yasir in the higher reaches of Yusmarg, Kashmir, after troops observed suspicious activity and engaged in a fierce exchange of gunfire.
- Intelligence linked Yasir to three major 2024 terror incidents, including the ambush of an Indian Air Force convoy in Poonch and attacks in Bota Pathri and Sonamarg, while he operated under deceased LeT commander Junai Ahmed Bhat.
- Special Forces currently dominate the encounter site, located between 12,000 feet and 15,500 feet in the Pir Panjal range, though incessant rain and visibility reduced to five metres have complicated the operation.
- The search operation continues for a second LeT terrorist, Musa, believed to be hiding behind boulders and natural caves in the high-altitude area, as troops remain vigilant to prevent his escape.
- Security forces launched the mission after tracking the terror group's movement from Ashdar Gali in Poonch toward Pakherpora in Pulwama, as the terrorists had re-entered the Valley earlier this month following their crossing north of the Pir Panjal range.
