UP Growth Push: Yogi Adityanath Says State Ready to Become Global Textile Value-Chain Hub
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the state is preparing to develop a complete textile value chain, from yarn to fabric, garments and brands, with the aim of becoming a global manufacturing and market hub. Addressing the gathering, Yogi Adityanath highlighted the transformation of Uttar Pradesh and contrasted the state’s current development outlook with the situation before 2017. He claimed that before 2017, law and order had deteriorated significantly and alleged that mafia networks operated parallel systems of influence across several districts. According to the Chief Minister, crimes including murder, extortion, land grabbing, kidnapping and illegal collection of money had become major concerns during that period. He further claimed that the environment had affected the safety of women, traders and investors and created a negative perception of Uttar Pradesh outside the state. Yogi Adityanath said investors previously faced concerns over security and extortion, while ordinary citizens also struggled with the state’s image. He presented improved law and order, investment and industrial development as key components of the government’s transformation agenda. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of building an integrated textile ecosystem within Uttar Pradesh rather than limiting the state to yarn or fabric production. The proposed value chain would connect textile manufacturing with garment production, branding and access to global markets. The remarks come as Uttar Pradesh seeks to expand industrial investment, create employment opportunities and strengthen its position in the national and international manufacturing ecosystem. The government is positioning the textile sector as an important driver of economic growth and job creation in the state.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the aim is to make Uttar Pradesh a global textile hub, leveraging the strength of the world's largest youth population. He also said that the plan is to complete all stages of production within the state and then export the products to the global market.
