WPL 2027: Mumbai Indians signs USA pacer Tara Norris in first-ever trade

Tara Norris adds left-arm pace and depth as Mumbai Indians fill all overseas slots before the mini auction, officials said.

  • Mumbai Indians completed their first-ever Women's Premier League trade on Monday, acquiring USA international left-arm pacer Tara Norris from the UP Warriorz ahead of the 2027 WPL season.
  • Norris, a 27-year-old left-arm pacer, previously represented the Delhi Capitals and made history by recording the first five-wicket haul in WPL history. She also brings experience from the MI London squad.
  • As the first player from an Associate nation picked in the WPL, Norris has taken 58 wickets in 79 T20 innings. She recorded a career-best 5/29 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2023.
  • This trade helps the franchise fill its required overseas slots for WPL 2027, as regulations mandate one of five international players must be from an Associate nation. Norris joins at her existing fee of INR 10 lakh.
  • The transition continues Norris's journey within the One Family network, having competed for Southern Vipers, Lancashire Thunder, and London Spirit. She was part of London Spirit's 2024 Hundred title win.
