A Whiteville woman was found dead inside a vehicle last week, and police say foul play is not suspected following an investigation and autopsy.

Body Identified; No Foul Play, WPD Says

The woman found deceased in an abandoned car in Whiteville Aug. 27 has been identified as Matassa Glenette Moore. Whiteville Police Chief Paul Rockenbach said foul play is not suspected in the death. Moore’s body was found in an abandoned vehicle near a home in the 300 block of West Columbus Street around 1:30 p.m., according to WPD.
