In operations conducted two days before the acting mayor election, four municipal council members were detained.
Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş released a letter to the public following the detention orders targeting council members. Stating that the operations, carried out before the upcoming deputy mayor election, disregard the will of the people, Dedetaş also indicated that qualified women holding positions in senior management were being specifically targeted.
