Romania is in a favorable position on the European agricultural market in 2026, with a harvest of cereals over average and with satisfactory water reserves in the ground in most parts of the country, at a time when several European states are severely affected by drought, heat and fires, shows an analysis carried out by the consulting firm Frames. However, the Romanian consumer will pay more for food.
Romania will have in 2026 some of the largest crops in a European Union ravaged by drought, heat and fires, but this will not only bring no benefit to the Romanians, but will even cause the cost of food.
Romania is in a relatively favourable position in European agriculture this summer: it has soil water in important areas, prospects for an over-average cereal harvest and goods available for export at a time when several European states are facing significant losses.
