The level of the Rhine is at a historical low, and other rivers also have little water. "The situation is really still very tense," says the new Minister of Transport.
Several of Europe's rivers have dried up significantly, while England has declared drought in large parts of the country.
The drought in Moravia is deepening and this can be seen in the state of watercourses. Half of the monitored locations in the Morava River basin have already reached the drought threshold. Some smaller rivers, such as the Svitava, even have zero flow in places. The lack of precipitation is also starting to be more pronounced at dams.
