Vanek joins the pantheon of greats

Thomas Vanek was only the fourth Austrian inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame this past May and only second player after Josef Puschnig. The son of a hockey player, Vanek started skating early and became too good for the system at home. And so he began a journey abroad to develop into a world-class player.  That journey started in 1997 when he played for Austria at the famous Quebec Pee Wee tournament and was named MVP.
