Hungary has not yet submitted an official request for payment from European funds, which European Union member states have until September 30, 2026 to do. This follows from Tuesday's response by the European Commission to the magyarnemzet.hu server to the statement by Minister of Transport and Investment Dávid Vitézy on the fulfillment of the conditions for releasing frozen EU funds, reports a TASR correspondent in Budapest.
According to the European Commission, the Hungarian Recovery Fund funds have not yet been disbursed, while the Tisza government is already saying that it has fulfilled the necessary conditions. According to Minister of Transport and Investment Dávid Vitézy, the government has fulfilled all the necessary legislative conditions, which has paved the way for the more than 10 billion euros of RRF funds.
The European Commission, led by Ursula von der Leyen, made a surprisingly cold statement on Hungarian EU funds. This is completely different from the victory reports of the Tisza government for weeks.
