Man attacked by tiger at UK wildlife park, police say

  • Emergency services responded around 1:35 p.m. to reports of a man entering a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in South Yorkshire.
  • The tiger subsequently attacked the individual, inflicting severe injuries; despite immediate medical response from land ambulances and the air ambulance, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • Eyewitnesses reported seeing the man acting erratically prior to climbing into the enclosure before being bitten by one of the animals.
  • South Yorkshire Police confirmed that the park was evacuated, the victim's family has been notified, and the tiger was uninjured and secured without presenting a wider risk to the public.
