The Deputy Foreign Minister explained that the Turkish plans are illegal for another reason, as they extend within the Greek continental shelf.
Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Öncü Keçeli stated that Greece's Special Spatial Framework for Renewable Energy Sources, covering the Aegean Sea, will not have any legal consequences for Turkey. Keçeli emphasized the need to avoid unilateral actions in the Aegean and underlined Turkey's readiness to cooperate with Greece.
