New details have emerged in the reopened investigation into the death of former intelligence officer Kaşif Kozinoğlu in Silivri Prison in 2011. It was revealed that 29 minutes and 36 seconds elapsed between the initial call for help and the arrival of medical personnel, and that the ambulance crew assigned to the prison campus was in Silivri city center for a meal at the time of the incident.
Following his assignment at the Special Forces Command, Kaşif Kozinoğlu served as the head of the Foreign Operations Department of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT). While on a foreign assignment, he was recalled to Turkey as part of the Ergenekon investigation. Upon his return, he was imprisoned in Silivri Prison. His arrest deeply upset him. He expressed his outrage and the injustice of his imprisonment.
Eight people detained in connection with the suspicious death of former intelligence officer Kaşif Kozinoğlu in Silivri Prison in 2011 were brought to court. One of the suspects, a former gendarmerie soldier, was arrested, while seven others were released under judicial supervision.
