The Istanbul Governorship announced security measures taken in front of and around schools to ensure the peace and safety of students.

The Istanbul Governorship announced the measures taken before the start of the 2026-2027 academic year on September 14th. As part of these measures, 2,469 police teams and 335 gendarmerie teams will be on duty, while 3,013 schoolyard staff will also begin their duties on Monday. Specifically for Monday, all public and private primary, secondary, and high schools throughout the city will operate between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
