The Federal Council will present its plans for agriculture from 2030. After the heat summer, the question is whether these are sufficient.
"Neither a break nor a revolution": the Federal Council presented on Wednesday its agricultural policy for 2030-2033. The envelope for the sector is less generous, but the evolution "thinks". Farmers and ecologist organizations are critical.
Agriculture will benefit from less money from the Confederation. The funds planned for 2030 and 2033 will be 123 million francs below the envelope 2026-2029. The Federal Council consulted on Wednesday its agricultural plan for the coming years.
The Federal Council is pushing ahead with its agricultural reform: from 2030 onwards, farmers will have to meet fewer targets and be more closely measured against concrete targets. Now, Minister of Agriculture Guy Parmelin is presenting the plans in detail.
