Even though Lajos Kósa raised the first name request to ministerial level, the Tisza government is taking everything back.
The First Name Register Expert Committee decided in January to delete 145 unused names, but this has now been overturned.
The Tisza government would thoroughly overhaul the system for authorizing first names, essentially reversing the reform introduced during the Fidesz era. According to 24.hu, the new ministry would change the system that last summer placed the care of the first name register in the hands of the minister responsible for culture, and which has since caused serious disruptions in the authorization of new first names.
Thanks to Zoltán Tarr, the 145 surnames ordered to be deleted by the Kósáék remain.
Lajos Kósa's name reform has been nullified, the Liszkas, Bennas and Dorons can also come - 145 first names have been saved, and the list may be expanded by another ten.
