On Saturday, the Supreme Court's Vacation Chamber issued a decision denying the extremely precautionary measure requested in the appeal filed by three senators of the People's Parliamentary Group, on behalf of the latter, regarding the non-appearance of several ministers in the Senate this August following the migration crisis in Ceuta.
"We will continue to defend the rights of senators and all Spaniards so that Sánchez's government will be held accountable," said Alicía García.
Admission to the procedure has been given at the beginning of the weekend, making it difficult for the Senate to accept the appearances.
The Supreme Court is now considering the ongoing dispute between the Senate and the Government after several ministers avoided appearing before the Upper House to explain their actions regarding the Ceuta migration crisis. The Third Chamber of the high court has accepted the appeal filed this Thursday by the People's Party (PP) and will now refer the decision on the precautionary measures requested by the PP to the Vacation Chamber.
