Global nuclear energy capacity is expected to reach 1446 GW by 2050, with approximately a quarter of this growth (260 GW) coming from small modular reactors (SMRs). Investments in SMRs are projected to accelerate in the 2030s and constitute one-third of total reactor investments. Turkey is also including SMR technologies in its plans as part of its 2050 nuclear targets, with a vision of domestic production and export.
