BlackRock Canada Launches ETF with 3% Bitcoin Allocation
The expanded lineup adds more than 1,700 global ETF options from iShares as the firms aim to make investing easier and more affordable.
- On Monday, August 10, BlackRock Canada launched two new ETFs on the Toronto Stock Exchange via the RBC iShares alliance: the iShares Equity + Bitcoin ETF Portfolio and the iShares Core MSCI All-International Equity Index ETF .
- The RBC iShares alliance combines investment management from RBC Global Asset Management Inc. with BlackRock Canada's iShares business, which managed about $6.2 trillion in assets globally as of June 30.
- IBQT targets a 97% equity allocation with 3% in Bitcoin for a 0.22% annual management fee, while XINT offers exposure to more than 5,000 companies across over 40 markets with a 0.23% annual fee.
- Steven Leong, head of Canada product and iShares at BlackRock, said the move reflects a commitment to expanding access for Canadians through "low-cost, one-ticker solutions."
