Specs For The XBOX Elite Series 3 May Have Leaked, and Stick Drift Won’t Happen
The leak says the new pro controller could add magnetic sticks, advanced haptics and 27 mapped topper and paddle configurations.
A Redditor has leaked details about the upcoming Xbox Elite Series 3, codenamed Edessa, discovered within the Xbox Design Lab backend. The new hardware aims to replace the Elite Controller Series, which Microsoft released seven years ago.
The new controller will utilize Hall-effect and TMR sticks, "suggesting a choice of magnetic sensing technology and stick resistance," to address drift. Advanced haptics motors will match PS5 DualSense controllers rather than rumble motors.
Backend data reveals performance D-pads with "standard, cross and grippy/faceted choices" and a dedicated audio scroll wheel. The Elite also includes various paddle designs like "standard, classic and doublewide paddles" with 27 mapped configurations.
The leaker identified 16 distinct 3D component models in the backend, with SKU combinations including "Elite Complete" and "Elite Base" with and without motors. The controller is linked to an accessory product called Beatrice.
Microsoft has not confirmed the information, and since the source files are no longer accessible, users should exercise caution. The data originated from the Xbox Design Lab backend, making verification impossible at present.
It hasn't even been officially announced yet, but has already been leaked multiple times: the Xbox Elite Series 3 controller. Xbox's most premium and expensive controller has once again been updated with new specifications via leaked information, and this will make gamers happy on various fronts.
