Hideo Kojima Gives Update on the Cast and Development of His Upcoming Metal Gear Solid Spiritual Successor, Physint
Kojima said many character names are set and that Bill Skarsgård, Charlie Fraser and Minami Hamabe have already been scanned.
Renowned game director Hideo Kojima recently shared updates on his upcoming action-espionage game Physint via his revived Koji10 podcast, revealing the project moved to Microsoft after Sony reportedly planned to cancel the title.
Kojima designed Physint to commemorate his 40th anniversary as a developer, with his other Microsoft project expected to release first; he estimated last year the game was 5-6 years away.
Filming for the game begins next year, with actors Bill Skarsgard, Charlie Fraser, and Minami Hamabe already scanned for their roles; Kojima noted 70% of the cast he personally pitched are fans of his work.
The director intends to evoke the roots of the Metal Gear Solid series while filling Physint with fresh ideas, creating a new interactive experience with a unique style of spy action gameplay.
At 63 years old, Kojima stated he approaches the development of every project as if it could be his final contribution, a philosophy that guides his current efforts on Physint.
Hideo Codzim discovered new details about Physint, his future spy game. The project will return to the origins of the Metal Gear series, but at the same time will offer a new vision of the genre and will not be a direct extension of the legendary franchise.
