The Ministry of Commerce Is Pushing Forward with the Belt and Road Initiative and Expanding Trade Partnerships, with Attention Focused on the Thailand-Sri Lanka FTA, Expected to Take Effect in Early 2027.
The Ministry of Commerce participated in the 11th Belt and Road Forum in Hong Kong, highlighting three approaches: "diversifying trade, expanding cooperation, and strengthening MSMEs." Discussions were also held with Qatar to pave the way for expanding into the Middle Eastern market, following up on the Thailand-Sri Lanka FTA (expected to come into effect in early 2027), and promoting trade and investment cooperation with Hong Kong.
