The Disembodied Hand That Walks: ETH Zurich's Creepy Robot Blurs Lines Between Limb and Machine

ETH Zurich researchers built an 818-gram robotic hand that walks on its own fingers using reinforcement learning. The untethered device crawls across 14 surfaces, recovers from falls 84% of the time, presses keyboard keys and pushes objects. It points to new possibilities for inspection in confined spaces.
