Met Éireann Issues Status Yellow Heat Warning for 14 Counties
Met Éireann said highs could reach 29C on Thursday, while warm nights and a nationwide hosepipe ban continue across the country.
Met has issued a Status Yellow High Temperature warning for Leinster and Tipperary, effective from 6am on Wednesday until 6am on Friday, with temperatures exceeding 27 Celsius.
High pressure is bringing warm continental air to Ireland, driving temperatures toward 29 Celsius this week, with Leinster expected to experience the most intense heat.
Dave Nelson William Spencer, climate and first aid expert at the British Red Cross, warned that hot weather poses "serious risks to health," particularly for vulnerable people.
Temperatures will fall back to between 17 and 22 Celsius on Friday as conditions cool, with forecasters suggesting a "cooler end to the week," including Sunday potentially being a "wetter day."
The Water Conservation Order remains in place across Ireland, prohibiting hosepipe use to protect drinking water supplies amid prolonged hot and dry conditions.
