Vancouver Island Students Embrace New Opportunities at John Horgan Campus
BCIT is piloting interior design and computer design courses as Royal Roads says the campus will welcome Canadian Armed Forces cadets.
The British Columbia Institute of Technology has joined Royal Roads University at the John Horgan Campus in Langford, piloting interior design and computer design courses for students this year.
Joining existing partners Camosun College, the Justice Institute of British Columbia, and the Sooke School District, BCIT expands a growing educational consortium in Langford.
Langford-Highlands MLA Ravi Parmar described the addition as a "game changer" for the campus and noted commitment from leadership to expand further and add new signage if programs grow.
Royal Roads is welcoming Canadian Armed Forces cadets this year through a subsidized undergraduate pathway, bringing what Deb Linehan called a "very diverse feel" to the growing campus community.
Students like Hunter Renowden and Gigi Garima urged peers to embrace opportunities and build relationships, with Renowden praising the new building and Garima highlighting local community connections.
