With the new school year around the corner, many area schools have opened up their enrollment periods. The following is information for each of the schools in the Lincoln County News coverage area.

Enrollment in Letcher County Schools and Jenkins Independent Schools is up slightly over the end of last year, but it is still far below levels from previous years. Letcher County School Superintendent Josh Yonts told the board of education Monday that pre-enrollment at Letcher County Central High School was up to 647 that morning, and mid-day Tuesday Director of Pupil Personnel Karen Baker said the figure was 651.
