A study in elderly mouse C57BL/6 found that semaglutide reduced calorie intake by 24% and extended life approximately 12%, with effects similar to caloric restriction in several markers of aging. Researchers warn that prolonged clinical studies are still needed to determine if this benefit can be transferred to humans.

A new study in Nature with Danish participation shows that the weight loss molecule semaglutide increases the production of life-extending proteins in older mice. However, the experiment has not yet been performed on humans.
