Security beefed up in Srinagar ahead of Independence Day celebrations

- Intelligence inputs regarding Pakistan-based terrorist organizations prompted the measures; authorities posted images of 19 wanted terrorists linked to Indian Mujahideen, Al-Qaeda, and Khalistani groups throughout the city.
- To strengthen Surveillance, more than 1,000 CCTV cameras equipped with Artificial Intelligence have been installed at the Red Fort and other strategic locations to facilitate real-time monitoring.
- Security plans include multi-layered Entry access control and deployment of Quick Reaction Teams , with Snipers stationed at strategic vantage points and specialized SWAT commandos positioned for comprehensive protection.
- Police have tightened Security across New Delhi at vital installations, government buildings, markets, and Metro stations, while intensifying Surveillance on hotels and crowded public places.
