- Questioning the state, the Bench asked why post-mortem examinations were conducted in only 20 of 34 death cases and demanded explanation for compensation of merely ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 for unnatural deaths.
- Additionally, the Manipur State Legal Services Authority was directed to ensure FIRs are registered for all unnatural death cases and to monitor expeditious investigation while protecting displaced residents' safety and dignity.
- Separately, the Bench expressed hope that two special trial courts will conclude hearings for CBI and NIA cases arising from the 2023 ethnic violence, with trials already commenced in 33 cases probed by state special investigation teams.
