S&U H1 Earnings Call Highlights
On Tuesday, Card Factory reported a 5.3% revenue increase to £260.8 million for the six months ending July 31, 2026, driven by wholesale sales and the Funky Pigeon acquisition completed in August 2025.
Digital sales jumped £12.8 million, helping offset a 0.7% decrease in total store sales, while like-for-like store sales fell 2% despite the opening of 23 new locations and 24.3% growth in Ireland.
Adjusted PBT decreased to £12.7 million from £13.2 million a year earlier, though improved product margins helped boost store profitability during the period despite subdued consumer confidence.
Chief Executive Officer Darcy Willson-Rymer noted the firm has been "encouraged by trading" since the end of July, with disciplined working capital management delivering strong Free Cash Flow.
Integration of Funky Pigeon and delivery of £5 million in synergies from FY28 remain on track, as the retailer optimizes its 1,126-shop estate and broadens celebrations market reach through international partnerships.
