A record 69,300 taxpayers filed forms with HM Revenue and Customs after leaving the UK in the latest financial year, according to newly obtained figures. The number of digital P85 forms submitted to HMRC reached 69,300 during 2025-26, more than 30,000 higher than the figure recorded around the time of the 2024 general election.
