Reese scores 23, Hillmon makes go-ahead basket in OT as Dream beat Liberty 101-98 for a 2-0 lead
Naz Hillmon scored the go-ahead basket in overtime as Atlanta forced 21 New York turnovers and moved one win from the WNBA Finals.
- On Wednesday, the Atlanta Dream defeated the New York Liberty 101-98 in overtime at State Farm Arena to secure a 2-0 lead in the WNBA semifinals.
- Despite Allisha Gray being sidelined, the Dream overcame a 35-point performance from Breanna Stewart, with balanced scoring from Jordin Canada and Reese maintaining control throughout.
- Marine Fauthoux forced overtime by hitting a 3-pointer with 10.3 seconds left in regulation; Naz Hillmon scored the go-ahead layup with 20.8 seconds remaining in overtime before Reese sealed the win with free throws.
- New York head coach Chris DeMarco did not call a reset timeout during the final seconds, apparently misinformed by officials; following Sabrina Ionescu's turnover, Breanna Stewart missed a desperation attempt.
- The Liberty now face a must-win situation hosting Game 3 on Friday at Barclays Center, as no WNBA team has ever rallied from an 0-2 deficit to win a best-of-five playoff series.
