Frozen Treats Sold at WA Grocery Stores May Contain Glass, Prompting Big Recall
Hawaii officials said the recalled fruit bars may contain glass, and no injuries have been reported.
On Wednesday, The Hawaii Department of Health alerted residents to a recall of Dreyer Grand Ice Cream, Inc.'s Outshine Fruit Bars due to possible glass contamination in the products.
Affected products include 6-count packages of Strawberry, Watermelon6-Count, Grape6-Count, Black Cherry6-Count, and Tangerine6-Count flavors, plus the Tangerine Variety Pack24-Count with best-before dates extending through 2027.
Nationally distributed, the treats were sold locally at Times, Don Quijote, KTA Super Stores, Walmart, and Target; Dreyer reports no injuries or illnesses have been caused by the bars to date.
The DOH FDB advises consumers to verify if their packages are subject to the recall, with items returnable to the store of purchase for a full refund.
Working to ensure product removal, The DOH FDB continues monitoring the recall while consumers requiring further information may contact Dreyer via email at dreyers@casupport.com.
