HBL PSL 12 to Return with Eight Teams
The tournament will keep its eight-team format after last season’s record crowds and first player auction, the PCB said.
On Thursday, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League will run from March 18 to May 2, 2027, retaining its expanded eight-team format for a second successive season.
This upcoming season builds on the expanded 2026 campaign, which introduced the league's first player auction and culminated in Peshawar Zalmi defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen for the title.
"We are committed to delivering another outstanding season," PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said, noting that PSL 11 set a high benchmark with record crowds and broadcasts.
PSL Chief Executive Salman Naseer said preparations are underway, adding that "Direct signings, retentions, the trade window and the auction will each bring their own excitement in the months ahead."
The PCB will announce specific match schedules, venues, and ticketing arrangements in due course, following consultations with franchise owners at a September 1 meeting in London.
