PSD and PNL member Raluca Turcan have submitted draft laws for the postponement of the new rules on admission to high school, which would apply from this school year. Social Democrat Mihai Ghigiu proposes a two-year postponement and says that the current procedure "does not inspire confidence while Turcan wants the changes to apply from the generation entering fifth grade in the school year 2026-2027.
Students, parents and politicians are asking for the project on the additional high school examination proposed by the Ministry of Education for 2027 to be withdrawn.
Admission to organized high school in education units after the National Assessment could be postponed. Parental associations and NGOs claim that this examination produces inequalities, and one Member requested a four-year postponement of this examination.
