As the new school year approaches, the issue of pocket money returns to the agenda along with other family expenses. However, agreeing on how many euros we will allocate to the child per week or month is the easier part of the task. More thought is required on how to turn pocket money into a practical lesson in financial literacy, which would grow with the child from the first independent purchases to the ability to plan their expenses and save.
