Pistachio green is the trendiest colour of 2026

A new Samsung poll of 2,000 adults named pistachio the trendiest colour for 2026, beating rivals like sage green, chocolate brown, and butter yellow as the shade best reflecting the year's mood.
The 'pistachio effect' appears strongest among younger generations, as 89 per cent of Gen Z and 77 per cent of Millennials noticed the shade appearing more frequently in 2026, compared to just 42 per cent of over 60s.
Samsung commissioned the research to coincide with the Galaxy S26 launch, which features AI-powered tools including My FanCam and Photo Assist and is available in pistachio. The colour's importance in technology is underscored by 61 per cent believing an unusual colour makes a product stand out.
"Pistachio feels particularly right for 2026 because we're seeing this fresh, expressive shade move beyond one trend or category," Annika Bizon from Samsung UK & Ireland said. The colour now spans food, fashion, interiors, and design.
Colours can act as an instant time machine, with 46 per cent saying certain hues transport them back to specific life stages, though 63 per cent warn that trendy shades risk instantly dating whatever they appear on.
